Two sellers can buy the same item at the same price and get very different results. The difference is presentation and trust.
Photography with no studio
- Use daylight near a window and a plain, light background.
- Shoot six to ten photos: front, back, details, labels, flaws, and scale.
- Clean the item properly; dust reads as neglect and invites low offers.
- Include a short video for anything mechanical or electronic.
Writing the listing
Lead with what the buyer is searching for: brand, model, size, condition. Then list what is included, the reason for selling, and any defect honestly. Honest descriptions reduce returns and disputes. Use the platform’s category and attributes correctly so the item appears in filtered searches.
Pricing strategy
List 10–20% above your target price to leave room for negotiation. Check what comparable items actually sold for, then position just below the strongest comparable. If an item gets many views but no messages, the price is too high. If it gets no views, the title, photos or category are wrong.
Handling buyers
- Reply fast; the first credible buyer usually wins.
- Use platform messaging and tracked payment, never “send money and I will ship”.
- Meet in a safe public place for local sales.
- Keep a receipt or screenshot of every transaction.
Treat every sale as a small marketing event: a good photo and a clear description sell the next item too, because buyers check your other listings.
